Conclusions
The problem of building-associated disease and injury is extensive,
serious, severe and preventable. The cause of the problem has been well
known for decades and it has been thoroughly described. The solution to the
problem is process management of building water systems. Building water
system process management is practical and effective. Effective program
implementation results in improved building water safety, improved
operational efficiency (often with cost-reduction) and provides the best
defense against an allegation of negligence. Independent validation and
verification is essential. Education and training is now readily available in
the US.
