The prevention of risks to the health is a concern for Accor, which has a
maintenance and inspection program designed to prevent the development
and dissemination of
Legionella
. Within these measures the objective is to
avoid and mitigate the risks of
Legionella
according to the international
technical standards.
In addition, we are prepared to operate actions permanently together
with our hotels and the main regulatory bodies to avoid passive omission
or unnecessary risk to our guests, employees and community. The group
has a strategy of analytical monitoring for
Legionella
in its units and
currently, as part of the improvement in the entire corporate process, it
counts on a company that is specialized in risk assessment for
Legionella
and in water safety plans for critical evaluations of laboratory reports and
risk assessments to ensure that our company causes the minimal impact
possible to the human health in terms of use of water. With the assistance
of this company, we gather the information on the risks of
Legionella
to be
controlled using the HACCP methodology (which we already use for the
safety of food in our kitchens and restaurants).
Finally, I reiterate my concern with this subject theme, both in terms
of the obvious reasons of health and safety to our guests and employees,
and also in terms of the financial issues, where serious companies oriented
to the sustainability of their business can not afford themselves to let these
aspects as a low priority.
