The performance associated with EPB targets is expressed according to
three levels:
Prerequisite:
levelcorrespondingtominimumacceptableperformance
for a venture of High Environmental Quality. This may correspond to
the rules which is demanding enough about the performance of an
enterprise, or, failing that, to current practice.
Performing:
corresponding to the level of good practice
HighPerforming:
levelcalibratedbasedonthemaximumperformance
observed in enterprises of High Environmental Quality, but ensuring
that these may be achievable.
Equivalence principle – Freedom for innovation
One of the concepts of AQUA-HQE is to promote innovation
and therefore, the AQUA-HQE considers the variety of technical and
architectural solutions that contribute to building performance, which
cannot be anticipated a priori, for this, agents of enterprise can apply to the
Performing and Top Performing levels, the “equivalence principle”.
This consists in propose, justifying it, an alternative method of
assessment, based on criteria other than the evaluation of the reference of
EnvironmentalQuality of Buildings, but that answers the same concern. This
principle becomes more complex the verification assessment (requiring any
contribution from an expert to validate the approach), but gives flexibility
to the referential.
